TF10 Gears Up for an Exciting Summer of Racing in Newport
Newport, RI - June 7, 2019 - With the summer months now upon us, the TF10’s of Malcolm Gefter (Celeritas) and Ron O’Hanley (Fearless Girl) are officially back in Newport, and being prepped for summertime racing.
John Taylor’s Ninkasi Heineken Light is in route from West Palm Beach, Fla. as the delivery of a fourth boat to Newport is imminent in July.
In anticipation of a very exciting summer season of racing, the TF10 Class Association (TF10CA) is happy to announce the following sailing schedule.
The racing excitement starts this weekend (June 8-9) with the Rhode Island Leukemia Cup Regatta, hosted and supported by the New York Yacht Club (NYYC) where O’Hanley will take the stage competing in the PHRF - Spinnaker division.
The International Yacht and Athletic Club (IYAC) Newport Cup happens June 30, 2019.
The 47th Annual Buzzard’s Bay Regatta (BBR) happening August 2-4 is also on the schedule. Hosted jointly by the Beverly Yacht Club and the New Bedford Yacht Club, the 47th edition will feature TF10s and in addition, there will be racing for PHRF Race and Cruise, NEMA Multihulls, F18 catamarans, Etchells, Laser Masters, 505s, Marshall 15s and foiling kiteboards.
First held in 1972, the BBR offers more diverse racing than anywhere else in the Northeast. TF10s are coming for the fantastic conditions on Buzzards Bay, and the incredible shoreside events featuring liquid fun, music, games and a full complement of awards and activities which follow racing each day.
The 2019 NYYC Annual Cruise taking place on August 3-10 is also on the calendar.
